Anirban Ghose graduated from the University of Sydney in 2016, completing a double degree in Mechatronics Engineering and Nanoscience. His final year honours thesis was investigating the application of GPU based parallel computing to improve traditional path planning techniques for robots. He joined the SMaRT centre team, as an engineer, at the end of 2015 with a primary focus of applying new, “intelligent” processing techniques to augment the innovative recycling techniques already being developed at the centre. As part of the team he has been developing new machine vision algorithms for identifying valuable, or hazardous, electronic waste, researching ways in 3D printing technologies can utilise electronic waste plastics, and exploring new avenues in electronic waste recycling. He has been a key member of the microfactory design and development team.
