Tim Smith

Before beginning his architectural studies Tim spent large amounts of time working on building sites creating sustainable homes in regional Australia. Because of this hands-on experience he decided to begin his studies into the built environment. After completing his Bachelor of Design (Arch) at the University of Newcastle he went back to working in the built environment completing a Certificate IV of Building and Construction at Riverina TAFE while continuing to design and build sustainable homes. After extensive travel around South East Asia, Tim decided to return to finish his Master of Architecture at UNSW. Tim’s masters thesis was focused on providing spaces and services to those sleeping rough or at risk within the inner city. While studying at UNSW Tim continued to work in the construction side of the industry at was part of the team that delivered “Aquas Perma Solar Firma” for CplusC Architectural Workshop which was awarded 2016 – Sustainability Award for a single dwelling. Since completing his studies Tim has continued his work in the sustainable residential sector and works closely with architects, engineers, designers, tradespeople and clients to deliver affordable sustainable solutions within the built environment.
